LIR (again) Stephen - WOW - that is (I bet) a good amount of $ for someone that age (75) to donate. One thing I'll mention (overshare maybe)

I'm sure you already know & do this ... But - a tale of two "shelters" if I may ...
We gave dog/cat supplies to both the Charlevoix & Little Traverse Bay Humane Societies from our office one year.
The smaller one (Charlevoix) sent us back the most adorable hand made card thanking us. LTBHS did nothing - said thanks when it was brought there though.
LTBHS has grown over the past 15-20 years to have a great support & fundraisers are solid - Charlevoix struggles but manages to do great stuff on a MUCH thinner budget.
We still support both - but gave feedback via a friend on the LTBHS board about the card vs no card feelings we had - and now they do letters ... which is great - don't mistake me - but the hand made card - still really resonated so much more.
So - FWIW? Any support - no matter how big or how small - a simple hand written heart felt card of genuine thanks goes a LONG way.
So happy for you - this is such good stuff.
A favor? If you have time? Update & pic of little Despereaux on FB please? Do the boys play with him yet? Is he still progresssing well?
Thanks!
