...yawn. The lower jaw joint is a little malformed in that it can slip back behind the upper jaw. When that happens, the muscles start to spasm, more or less locking in in place like that.
The problem is that, last time we pursued this, the HMO says it's a dental issue, so they won't cover surgery to correct it. The dental insurance says it's a medical issue, so they won't cover it.
