I make this point because hockey and soccer are the most similar sports, stylistically.

Logically, you should want the same rules to apply for both. One should be preferred to the other.
We are discussing time periods for single goal scoring systems. Do you prefer the precise clock of hockey or the imprecise injury time-based clock of soccer?
And again, I do not need an answer now. Feel free to reflect upon it but I think we both know which one you will eventually decide is better, assuming you have not already done so.
