there's some mild strategy similarities but for the most part they're played really differently. For instance, physicality is much more encouraged in hockey, so the red/yellow system wouldn't work at all. Consider that teams sometimes win a man down, while a man advantage in hockey is lethal.

I wouldn't call lacrosse a major sport, no, but that's while I qualified it.
