DEN was a precursor to YouTube and a forerunner for a lot of what we're starting to see on the internet just now. Short form original professionally produced content. Some of it is still available at den.net, if you can believe it. The resolution is awful.

I'd like to hear more about Den.net and how it ultimately collapsed. There's a bit of it here. The whole thing is pretty fascinating. (www.buzzfeed.com)
