Major surgery trip was either one or two years earlier. After that it was still worth the travel expenses to continue follow up appointments at the Mayo

So that's why we were willing to make a combined trip out of it the realistic hope is that nothing would be found. Though Veronica did hedge and put the appointment after Chicago just in case it was bad news
