I suspect the problem is the sweat threatening to show the bra thing.

White is generally somewhate show through, but if the fabric's heavy enough you can get away with beige (skin-colored) bra. And a white bra and undies under white clothes is considered to be a bit tacky. So the preference is generally for nude, but sounds like that is cutting it either.
Weirdly, if you sweat in a nude bra that's close enough to your skin tone it lookes like your skin.
