The metric system is a bit more intuitive, being in base 10. And it has a basis in naturally occurring phenomena.

But, really, once you learn any system, your good to go so long as that system ios widely used where you live.
Given that, I have no clue off-hand, what a bushel is so it's not like I'd be doing any better under a system where I had no idea what a deciliter was. :-)
