So here's my potential rationale for buying a Chevy right now.

I think with all of the scrutiny, they're going to be on their best behavior for a while. Second, I assume that their sales are hurting right now due to bad publicity. That seems to be born out by the deal I'm seeing on the dealer website for a 2014 Sonic that's about $1500 less than the True Car value I see for my zip code.

The Sonic doesn't seem to have the level of issues that other Chevys have had and it has received good ratings and reviews. I will certainly be expressing concern about the recalls when talking to the dealer and have no problem walking away which is nice. If it's really the deal I see on the website and I like it after driving it then it might be the right timing.
