History isn't a saturated niche. You could conceivably rank fairly high on a wide variety of long tail keywords (a keyword tool will help you find which ones have a high-ish number of monthly Google searches with low competition).

With some basic SEO (search engine optimization), you might be able to make some steady income with Adsense. I doubt you'd be able to take advantage of affiliate offers in the history niche.
