Well, if I get bored with Detroit I now have a pass for the North American Science Fiction Convention being held in my hotel.

The only names attending I'm familiar with are Stephen Barnes (meh) and David Hartwell (not so meh). There's going to be a session for author signings but I can't find a list of who will be there! I once worked for a publisher who did some hardcover reprints of science fiction books that had never been in hardcover. Hartwell was editor for a time. I have a copy of Robert Heinlein's Destination Moon with an introduction by Hartwell (he did several intros on these books) but the book has his name on the spine, "David Hartwell, Ed.". I don't know how many of these were misprinted like this - it came out before I worked for the publisher but I managed to get it because I discovered a copy was still in inventory. I'm bringing it with me. Hartwell is chairing at least one panel. Maybe I can get him to sign it. He might get a chuckle out of it. Or chase me out of the room.
