you're looking at the damage it seems as though they are taking extreme actions because they have so much more power to wield, but any other country put in their position would respond similarly (certainly we would). Outside of these battles there are things Israel can and should do differently, but given that they are under constant threat and there is no party on the other side that they can effectively deal with (and that will live up to their end of the deal), they have few choices other than decide to simply accept the terror attacks and constant threats (which is unacceptable to anyone).
