In addition to what she noted, he mentioned his regret about arguing with Max so much in his life. That even though he was right in those arguments, it never helped, and made them more distant. He realized he should have made his point with Max then acted compassionately after. I think one of the marks of being a great parent is to admit the times, in a truly humble way, that you aren't great. Landbeck did that last night.
