My school district...and ty's...covers such a wide range of area...farmland to the east to affluent suburbs to the west

And then as they keep adding schools, it's gotten to where some schools get less diverse.
It's actually rather disgusting to watch some of the hearings on school boundaries...there is one local elementary school that has a VERY...VERY...wealthy neighborhood on one side...and low-to moderate middle class neighborhood on the other.
A new school will open in the middle class neighborhood in fall 2010...the wealthy neighborhood wants the kids bussed across itn eh interstate divided up between three other schools so their kids can have the school to themselves in Fall 2009.
For awhile, it looked like the district might give in to them and their $$$...but apparently the hate speech they used in emails and such truned so many people off, they might end up not getting their way.
