Where would I move the goods when I'm being attacked? I only have one town.

I'm expanding my warehouse again as I type this but I can't build an army or ships without sulfur of which I have none. It's very expensive on the market and between buying wine and sulfur I nearly go broke every other day.
I've tried to trade with people near by but I haven't had any luck yet.

I'm going to keep trying to get a new colony since it seems like the only way to get the resources I need. So frustrating though.
