LIR: The SciFi channel is running the WCG Ultimate Gamer Challenge. I watched the first episode last night and I like it

They have gathered 12 of the top gamers in the US together and each week they will have a real life challenge and then the corresponding video game challenges. After that, their two scores are ranked and the one on the bottom is sent into the elimination challenge and the one on the top picks someone to face them in the elimination challenge. Obviously the loser of the elimination challenge goes home.
The prize is $100,000, a Samsung ultimate electronics suite, and a year long gig as a spokesperson for the World Cyber Games.
They will feature a different type of game each week for the challenges. Last night, it was Rock Band 2. In the real life challenge they got split into 3 bands and had to perform a Donnas song. They were judged by The Donnas. Then they faced off into new bands on Rock Band 2.
Also last night, Survivor-style politics got introduced into the game in a hard fashion by one group of guys.
Finally, I should mention that they are definitely out to promote female gaming. Half of the contestants are females and some of them are quite cute.
