Inigo, I agree Batman is DC's big draw. And they just cast Schumaker and Clooney with Dean Cain for what is supposed to be the start of their

DC Cinematic Universe.

They have a director with no subtlety, who favors style over substance. They cast a decent actor for Bats, a ho-hum actor for Supes and a barely literate writer.

Whoever is running the cinematic arm of DC has no clue what makes a movie worth seeing. Marvel gets that it's story. Look at their casting. Marvel hasn't tapped huge stars, they tapped good actors and made them huge stars by giving them great writing (or at least much better than average writing) and putting directors in place who understand the effects have to support the story, not drive the story.

DC seems to be drawing all the wrong lessons from Marvel's success. DC could be turning out great films. They have the stable of characters to do it. But whoever is running the show doesn't have the first clue how to make that happen.

They won't go broke doing what they're doing, but they sure aren't going to make movies worth watching more than once.
