In response to "battle on! -- nm" by crash davis

The hardest part is, it is a totally different skill set from prepped verses.

You train yourself to be as witty as possible, but you can't self-edit in a freestyle, b/c it is more important to stay on beat and rhyme in a freestyle; you lose your rhythm and you're sunk. So you actually need to train yourself to turn your self-editing off and just say whatever stupid shit comes to mind with enough swagger and confidence that no one questions it. And get ready to say dozens and dozens of ridiculous useless bars and not let it shake your confidence when 6 other rappers start laughing at how dumb you sound. Physically impossible to be a flawless freestyler.
