Time to earn your keep ST: XML question...

I've downloaded a bunch of XML into Excel. It's a mess. In trying to clean it up into a nice heirarchy but my first problem is that for each row of XML it's only reading a part of what I actually see in the cell.

e.g.:
<?xml version="1.0"?>

There are tags after it I can't manipulate in the cell.

So that's the basic question but my more fundamental question is - what's the best way to clean up XML so it's human readable.
