Speaking of older movies, I rewatched Young Frankenstein and I gotta say the movie nerd aspect of it holds up well

I've never seen any of the old Frankenstein movies it spoofs, but you can tell everything in it calls back to them. The score. The actual references to Mary Shelley. Stuff like the cinematography and the emotional aspect around Cloris Leachman's character were sort of impossible for me to appreciate seeing it as a kid. One thing that's the same is the strange juxtaposition of screwball comedy with black and white gothic horror. I love this movie so much more now.

Incidentally, I got this due to spamlet's (IIRC) amazon link about the Mel Brooks box set a while back, so thanks!
