this was many years ago. In fact, I would think it was the year that McGwire and Sosa were going after the record.

The Cardinals played the Giants, and Barry was pretty much right in front of me. (I was in the box which is the exact spot where McGwire would eventually hit #63).
Anyhoo, the box had all you can drink beer to the seventh inning, so I was not sober. I pretty much talked to Barry the whole game. But I didn't really diss him. I went the other way since all the people around me were booing him. At one point, I told him he was awesome and he nodded his head for emphasis.
So to say it was catcalls was not quite right. But my praise wasn't exactly sincere, either. I was weird that day.
