I am sure the fact that PDX looks a lot like the downstate NY area I grew up in is part of why I love it.

The entire time we drove the Gorge area I thought I was back in NY.

And the liberal hippiness of PDX (proper) doesn't hurt.

But I was very much stuck in dreadful traffic driving from Beaverton into PDX (on the way to the airport)
