You adjust, you know there are waits, delays, etc.

You don't accept exorbitant baggage delays (because get on it baggage handlers) but the rest happen sometimes due to weather or mechanical so you sigh and grin and bear it.
That said, I normally didn't have a ride picking me up (in part because I didn't want to subject them to the unpredictability of air travel and in part because traffic to the Chicago and NYC airports is often worse than mass transit!)
