I stand by my assertion that people will show up to vote for Obama on Election Day simply because of the social element.

If anything, the festive attitude may actually INCREASE turnout. Being part of this momentous event is reason enough to show up and vote. I say this based on how I just felt filling out my ballot for Obama.
