"As of December 31, 2008, approximately 39 percent of the consolidated assets of AIG were located in foreign countries (other than Canada)..."

"A substantial portion of AIG�s General Insurance business and a majority of its Life Insurance business is conducted in foreign countries."

And if memory serves, I believe 40-60% of its employees are overseas.
