yeah, i love the "how things work" book. when i was an archaeology student, one of my profs had us read a dorothy l. sayers mystery...

it was her way of getting us to understand how you form an idea of what happened by the evidence you find but then toss it out and re-formulate the hypothesis when something new comes up. her name was dena dincauze, i'll always remember that class.
