okay, in other news, if Scotland actually proceeds w/ a move towards independance from England, (monarchial question / consideration IM) . . .

I just heard something on BBC Radio about Scotland, their potential seeking to become a republic separate from England, and what they would do in regards to the monarchy (and possibly 'ditching' them as part of the Scottish "law system" and going to fully a Scottish parliament [i would imagine] alone) . . .
doesn't Scotland have some right to claims on the Royal Family? Doesn't the current family of Queen E go back to . . . gods, who was it? i'm forgetting my history . . . was it Queen Elizabeth I who was Scottish queen and who eventually took the English throne?
not that I'd expect Her Highness, Prince CHarles, or any of the others to ditch England and go running north to Edinburgh and take up residence in some capacity (formal or otherwise) . . .
i'm just curious and rambling over things at this point . . .

the union is complicated, there's about 400 years of history. James VI/I unified the crowns in ~1600, and there's the acts of union ~1700,
