I'm saying it's a bad article :)

Re-reading Paul's column on Ferguson, his comments on race and the criminal justice system are what has gotten attention from liberals, but a lot of his points are made in tea party-style language.

"Big government is at the heart of the problem."

"Washington has incentivized the militarization of local police precincts by using federal dollars to help municipal governments build what are essentially small armies—where police departments compete to acquire military gear that goes far beyond what most of Americans think of as law enforcement."

"The militarization of our law enforcement is due to an unprecedented expansion of government power in this realm."

IMO, these quotes could have come from any tea partier. (Note: I'm not saying these points are incorrect)

Anyway, it's interesting that five years since the movement started, it's still pretty hard to nail down what the tea party actually is. We're still talking about "who's in / who's out"
