that turned into a riot. some friends and I were unknowingly in the area of the demonstration when it got violent. there was tear gas and rubber bullets. it was unpleasant.
same thing about a year later, saturday afternoon, some friends and I got off a tram, were walking through one of the main plazas in Zurich, when suddenly the protest against buying French fighter jets turned violent (again, we weren't part of the protest). rubber bullets and tear gas abound. I might still have a rubber bullet from that one somewhere.

- the needle park one was a little scary. that was a line of riot police marching up a pretty enclosed street. we hid in a McDonald's. the other was in - mafic Aug 18, 22:18
