a medical office requires...

the staff to balance your desire to be seen when your appt is against a variety of factors. If someone calls in and sounds like they have ebola - you're going to wait while the NP figures out what's happening. Test results come in over night that need to be looked at and followed up on as well. Medical offices are fluid. It's not entirely out of operational inefficiency that people have to wait.

Medicine isn't like many other workflows as there are countless interruptions, some/most which are valid.

But even if that never happened - you're still not getting a text that the office is behind because there's a prohibitive cost.
