For those not on FB, a Despereaux update!

An update on Despereaux:

Earlier this week Despereaux went to the vets for a consult with the surgeon specialist to see if there was anything that could be done to surgically repair the defect in his leg. Unfortunately, though there was some optimism when we first brought him in that his leg could be surgically repaired, the surgeon advised that his leg can not be fixed through surgery. We're pretty bummed by that, however, the good news is that he won't need to have it amputated, either! As he's grown, his leg has begun to turn back into a more normal position, so that when he's walking, he's actually walking on his paw pad. Because the "knee" still isn't where it should be, he still can't put his full weight on, but, it also doesn't seem to slow him down all that much either. Now that he's walking on his paw pad, we're no longer forced to keep him confined to the bed, or couch, and so he's been given free run of the house, and boy does he take advantage of it! One of these days i'll get a video posted of just how well he's able to move about, and how his leg doesn't seem to slow him down all that much, at all.

As for the question of whether or not we're just "fostering" him, well, that decision has been made too, and not everyone's thrilled about it!
