I know...but at some point, a 31 year old askign to be taken care of until he's 37 isn't horrible

it's when he's asking for 3-4 years past 35 where it gets bad.

At some point, Cherington's going to have to take a leap on a big ticket here and there cuz the odds he'll undercover 3 winning lottery tickets like last year is not in his favor.

What kills them is when you have 3-4 guys who are on bad contracts (Crawford was a disaster from day 1), Gonzalez wasn't great (but that seemed market value)...that's when you get crushed.

See NYY with ARod, Texeira, Sabathia...that's $75mil in dead money.
