The dinosaur was there there because it tried to eat the TARDIS while it was starting to time travel. The TARDIS got stuck in the dinosaur's throat and took it along for the ride. I imagine that the special scene at the movie showing will be about that. The robots were apparently the same one from Girl in the Fireplace. I thought I was the only person that didn't make that connection.
