Recognition of the wrongs done to them by the institution, criminal prosecution of the perpetrators, compensation in some constructive form, etc

I am speaking generally here, but my thoughts are guided by government and international responses to a variety of past crimes and abuses - Australia's response to the stolen generation, Canada's recent apology to Chinese migrants, war crimes tribunals in Cambodia, etc
Dealing with crimes that took place 30+ years ago is nothing new
