On a scale of (totally okay) 0 <---> 10 (jerk) what do you think?

On the current rotation there are 4 residents (including me). We are responsible for making a schedule to cover the weekends. One month prior I e-mailed everyone asking to get together to make the schedule. Nothing came of it. A few weeks later I e-mailed again, again nothing. We were getting pretty close to the start of the rotation and I needed to know my free weekends so I made a schedule and e-mailed it to the 3 other people. I said in that e-mail to get back to me and I will submit the schedule in 2 days. Person A and B replied requesting changes that were fully accommodated. Person Z never replied. I submitted the schedule.

About 3 days after submitting the schedule I ran into person Z (day prior to start of new rotation) and he was like "so who is covering..."
me: O_O what do you mean? The schedule is submitted already

Long story short, apparently he hasn't checked his e-mail for the past month. He then flipped out and said I didn't all this without him.

However:
-three attempts via e-mail were made
-the e-mail was sent to his official program e-mail which we are required to check regularly. Last year they made a strong push for us to use that e-mail and even individually asked everyone if they had access.

Should this dude be babied or you snooze, you lose?

Am I totally fine here or a jerk?
