Thinking about it a little further, Apatow's speaking as a comedy director.

The Hollywood movies that appeal in China are big action blockbusters, while comedies made here barely get a look-in over there (or in other international markets) due to different tastes, jokes that are lost in translation, stronger competition etc...
So if Hollywood is looking to China, it's less likely to fund the movies Judd Apatow wants to make.
