I have only down Jo'burg (mainly - that's where work was) and one weekend in Cape Town. Never got further (yet).
Cape Town is one of my favorite places on earth. The city and the whole area is phenomenal. I was only there for 48 hours (probably more like 40 due to flight delays) but managed to explore (a bit) the city of CT, made it to Table Rock, made it to Cape Point (the southwestern tip of SA) in daylight and Cape Agulhas (most southern point in Africa and border between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans) alas after dark. I need desperate to get back to Cape Town.
Johannesburg area is quite a different vibe from Cape Town and requires more caution, but the history there is so vital.
I recall my (2007) Jo'burg tour being performed by Josh Tours. These may be the same folks. Was great.
