That's a very interesting theory and, intellectually, it makes some sense. However, it would make no sense to the majority of fans who haven't seen more than snippets of early Dr. Who. I remember Tom Baker on PBS but I'm not that much of a Whovian that I know all the Doctors and their personalities. So if Moffat is just playing mind games with me, I'm out.
