The trick to growing tomatoes from seeds up here is this. Start them in those little Jiffy Greenhouse tins in early March. The ones that you add water to the little dirt pellets and the pellets grow to the size of kiwi fruit.
I then get them to a about 6-8 inches tall and pot them inside by a window(about 6 weeks) Then in late May I move them outside. This gives them a great head start on the growing season. I also use Miracle Grow once they are potted.
