Maybe not a profound effect on the established bands who make good albums, but certainly the ones to come.

In the age of digital downloads, if I am a record exec, why am I signing and developing rock bands or other musicians who are more traditionally tied to the album concept, instead of just finding pop hits to release as singles to sell 2 million downloads?
