I disagree with the premise the anyone should be the "World's policeman".

That the US has taken up that position has allowed a lot of other nations to scale back their militaries, further cementing the need for our involvement.

I'm tired of defending people unwilling to defend themselves.

Note: "unwilling." There are plenty of people who are "unable" and they deserve help. But the help has to actually help by improving things, not making them worse.
