Iron Man 1 is ultimately a decent movie containing a really great performance. Thinking about it only lessens the movie (spoils)

Jeff Bridges villain is really not a strong villain; he wants power, he manages to make the same basic suit as Tony and that's the actual villainous arc.
This movie actually puts that same scenario on the table as the B-side villain (with the Winter Soldier). The A-side villain is the entire splintered SHIELD/HYDRA and the bigger question of what is freedom and security?
Both Iron Man and Avengers could be more entertaining than Cap 2, but as a meaningful movie, Cap 2 is leaps ahead, imo.
