Destiny goes from 0 to ridiculous fairly quickly.

Here is what I need to do to finish an exotic bounty:

- Complete "The Summoning Pits" Strike on the Moon. Rewards you with the "depleted hand cannon."
- Kill 500 Hive on the Moon
- Kill Guardians on the Crucible with Void damage. 500 points are required. Death slows the process. 5 points per kill. -2 points per death.

Completing this stage turns the gun into the "corrupted hand cannon.

- Go to the Speaker in the Tower and purchase an "infusion of light" for one mote of light.
- Go visit the Warlock Mentor in the Vanguard area.
- Go BACK to the Moon and start the special lvl26 version of the "summoning pits."
- In the final area, where you fight Phogoth, keep killing the minions until "Xylor, The Unwed" spawns. Kill him. Once you've done this, you can immediately head back to orbit, no need to finish the strike.
- Speak to the Speaker in the Tower and you'll be given "Thorn," One of the two Exotic Hand Cannons in the game. The other is called "The Final Word."
