I feel like Wren's tenure was savaged by bad luck.

He makes the McLouth trade that everyone loves. McLouth falls off the table. He acquires and extends Uggla, who is okay for two years then a trainwreck. He steals Justin Upton, and assembles a dynamic pitching rotation. EOF and Venters suffer arm injuries in the bullpen while Medlen and Beachy do the same in the rotation. Three of those four guys wind up needing another surgery. EOF's contract is up so that the budget constraints force him out of town.
Really, the only move of Wren's that I ever actively despised was BJ Upton. And without BJ, we probably don't get Justin.
