My IRA I can buy anything on the market. That can be a good thing or a very bad thing if you aren't paying attention.

Though ETFs are pretty safe. I have been buying commission free ETFs lately and the only requirement is a 30 day hold before you sell.
That way I can buy smaller amounts and the trading fees don't eat me up.
