To get a previous member back into ANY TYPE of GROUP . . . If "they" left the Group (and not banned), just send them the full-web-address of the Group (beginning https).
Because they were a previous member they will be able to click on the link, and "Ask to Join Group", without you having to change the Group Confidentiality settings.
YES, this even works with SECRET Groups.
