Let's not confuse a renewal with doing well.

Opening weekend, 1.75x more people *paid* to watch Captain America 2 than choose to watch an hour long free tv show.
It exists because Disney and ABC are okay with it trying to find it's footing. It's footing about 5.5mil viewers and a 2 in Demo. That footing becomes a lot shakier if it's still there in May 2015 becuase Avengers 2, Cap 3, Thor 3 etc...they don't need a lead-in.
And after GotG being the #1 movie of the year, the only tie in the 2nd tier of Marvel movies needs is "From Marvel Studios" behind it's title card.
AoS should be judged on it's own merits and finances. That's almost unquestionably under what ABC and Disney expected 13 months ago.
