so, theoretically speaking, if a person wanted to, say, change their last name from one side of the family to the other, how difficult a process ...

it is?

like, it's not a divorce thing or anything like that. they just wanted to take on the last name of the other side of their family . . .

other than a few "document" issues, such as needing to get a new driver's license, passport, a new birth certificate (I guess?), and a few other forms of ID and alerting credit cards, bank accounts, etc. . . . i'm just wondering from the legal aspect how difficult is it to legally change your name?
