Bad or lack of reporting on the news is bad for everyone. They're failing at their jobs now going on well more than a decade.

I can't say when it started but 9/11 was when it really showed how they stopped being reporters and started being shills.
The lack of investigative journalism along with the puff pieces and soft stories has had the effect of dumbing down society. People don't get real news from TV anymore. Ant hard hitting news stories are online and not easily found by the masses.
They have a job to do and they've been failing at it for far too long.
