TWUG, your blanket statement about "all modern architecture" is silly

When it first opened, the Walt Disney Concert Hall by architect Frank Ghery had no shortage of detractors. Now, you can't imagine the downtown Los Angeles skyline without it.

Architectural innovation does more than make buildings look a certain way. It promotes commerce and travel because it gives people a visual frame of reference that let people know where they are. Public artistic achievements have the capacity to reach people emotionally in a way a signpost never can.
